The Inconel alloy can be precipitation hardened. By age-hardening, the alloy, titanium, and aluminum components are added. Copper and molybdenum additives provide the flanges with their corrosion-resistant properties. In an oxidizing environment, the combination of chromium and nickel offers excellent resistance to nitric and sulfide acids. The Inconel Alloy 925 Lap Joint Flange is typically annealed at around 2000 degrees Fahrenheit or solution treated at about 2100 degrees Fahrenheit, with air cooling.
