The chance of carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during heat treatment is considerably reduced when the carbon concentration is minimal. It is very resistant to intergranular corrosion caused by carbides. It’s a high chromium, and molybdenum content resists homogeneous corrosion by organic acids such as formic and acetic acids. Inorganic acids, mainly those containing chlorides, are resistant to this substance.
